The Lion of the Tribe of Judah
BE SOBER and BE VIGILANT
1Peter 5:6-11 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty
hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him;
for he careth for you.
Be sober,
Be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all
grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye
have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To
Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
The thief cometh not,
but for to steal,
and to kill,
and to
destroy:
I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I Am
the Good Shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. [John
10:10,11]
WE HAVE AN ADVERSARY
Finally,
my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[Ephesians 6:10-18]
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt
about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked. And
take the helmet of salvation, and
the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God: Praying
always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; For
though we walk in the flesh, we
do not war after the flesh: (For
the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and
bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And
having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is
fulfilled. [2

But
thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness,
faith, love, patience, meekness. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow
righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a
pure heart.] Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. [1Timothy 6:11; 2 Timothy 2: 22]
